OUR VISIONBFL's vision, in partnership with viable stakeholders, is to enlighten and empower people to develop vibrant communities and enhance the capabilities of is residents. Central to this vision is the Better Family Life Cultural, Educational, and Business Center, which serves as the central hub of community gathering, learning, research, affordable housing and community development, entrepreneurial development and new business enterprise, vibrant neighborhoods, workforce development towards self-sufficiency and civic activism. |
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCEFor over 20 years, the Youth, Family and Clinical Services team has provided services that address the physical, mental, emotional and financial needs of youth and their families. Through a best practice and evidence based curriculum, BFL serves approximately 9,382 youth and young adults, ages 4-24, per year in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and the Metro East with 13 programs including Youth passport to the Future After-school program; 21st CCLC Normandy After-school Program; Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP), Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA - City and County), Department of Justice Second Chance, Kuumba Youth Performance Ensemble (KYPE) and the Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) in Ferguson, MO. BFL has almost doubled its service delivery by working with approximately 378 students on a daily basis, through our Teen Pregnancy Prevention & Empowerment Programs. BFL has engaged 1,176 high school students and 1,047 middle school students, in Twenty-two (22) schools. |
